Many small businesses are struggling to gain local online marketing exposure and the reasons are quite common. Local company’s don’t plan on failing, but they do fail to plan from a strategic standpoint. Marketing for small business requires a reoccurring monthly budget to maintain promotional campaigns; just make sure to track the campaign performances.
Most small business owners wear multiple hats and were a victim at one time or another from unfulfilled marketing promises. Before making any investments into a new campaign, implement some type of internet marketing strategy or consider hiring a local internet marketing consultant.
The secret to gaining more marketing exposure online, is to create unique content on a regular basis. Successful internet marketing for small business requires the company to be consistent in their efforts and allowing a reasonable period for the campaigns to perform.
There is a popular online marketing strategy which large businesses use to dominate the search engine rankings and it’s called Inbound Marketing; that’s their authority hub secret.
Here’s my Keep it short simple small business internet marketing strategy. Know who your competitors are online. Conduct keyword research to determine what your potential customers are searching for online. Update the company website’s content to reflect consumers search behavior. Create a monthly marketing budget in advance. Become the expert in your industry by writing informative articles which are inspiring and contradict normal beliefs. Establish a social media presence by creating twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, MySpace, etc… Create press releases, comment on blogs, create videos, create podcast’s…
Remember i said the process is simple, but i didn’t say it wasn’t tedious. I use online video marketing combined with local internet marketing to create my authority hub strategy and it has produced page one search engine rankings on Google, Yahoo, and YouTube. Attend some business courses so that you can learn how to run and operate a business. You already know your subject really well but do you know how to run cost effective advertising?

Now this is one of the most critical objectives any business faces. If you offer more than a handful of products on your website, or local brick and mortar business, you must find out very quickly, exactly what your visitor is looking for.
